Nice Finish, but Playoffs? The FedEx Cup playoffs are one week old and the verdict is in. I saw golf that was spectacular and gripping. I saw heroic shots and colossal blunders. I saw clutch, must-make putts and drama like I haven’t seen since the last time a Ryder Cup was close on a Sunday. (Can anybody still remember that far back?) I saw eliminated players who were tearful, angry and resigned. I saw real, raw emotion. For sheer drama, I saw televised golf at its best.

3 Texans advance to semis at U.S. Amateur DALY CITY, Calif. (AP) — Jhonattan Vegas was one of three Texans who reached the U.S. Amateur semifinals at the Olympic Golf Club on Friday.

New Stevie in Town Steve Stricker’s battle with his golf swing hit its bloodiest stretch at the 2004 Players Championship, round one. It was at the watery, railroad-tied TPC Sawgrass that Stricker suffered a series of gruesome knockdowns that might have driven others to throw in the towel.
